Hi there, and welcome to Bishop Grossetes University College,
You have found your way onto the SU website, and we are here to answer any questions you may have about the students' Union and your exprerience as a student here. If there is anything we have missed then you can always contact us by popping up to the office or emailing su@bishopg.ac.uk
One burning question on the lips of all freshers (and returning students!) is whats occuring in Freshers 2009?
We have the answer ringing clear and true - it's packed with fun and games! Don't forget you can buy a freshers band for the minimal cost of £10 - and that will get you into all events (except the day trip to skegness) for free!! and you get a free shot! :-)
So here it is the Freshers 2009 lineup!
Wednesday 16th September - Welcome Party. Come to the Bar at 7:30pm meet your SU exec and loads of other friendly faces along with other freshers and maybe your Buddy and have a great dance in 3DY to some awesome tunes.
Thursday 17th September – Gladiators ARE YOU READY??? If so come and challenge our Gladiators and each other on some giant inflatable’s. Come on down to the SU Bar at 8:00pm as its all for charity as its being put on by your STRANGE team, and have a great time.
Friday 18th September – Cops and Robbers The Welfare team present your first dress up night in the SU Bar at 8:00pm. come as a cop or a robber take part in some challenges and then we’ll take you out handcuffed together! This is all down to Welfares ‘Stick Together’ campaign to make sure no one feels alone and everyone is safe.
Saturday 19th September –
Day trip to Skeggy Leaving at 10:30am to go to the lovely sea – side resort of Skeg-Vegas come on down for sand sea and donkeys!
Ents Ultimate Student Battle Ents are challenging you! Connies, Wickham, Nelson and Off Campus we have some awesome challenges. Get into teams, get to the SU Bar for 7:30 and prove you’re the Ultimate student team.
Sunday 20th September –
Family Fun Day Turn up at 12 noon at the SU for Barbeque, Bouncy Castle, Fair ground stalls, a Crèche for the little ones come on down and see what we have to offer.
Casino Royale If you like your nights shaken not stirred put on your cocktail dresses and tuxedos and try your luck with Black Jack, Poker and Roulette and put your money on the table. Actually so we’re all safe we use fun money but there will be a good prize at the end of it. See you in the SU Bar at 8:00pm.
Monday 21st September – RAG Karaoke Please allow me to introduce you to your weird and wonderful RAG team strut on down to the SU Bar at 8:00pm and sing along with all your favourites.
Tuesday 22nd September – Tour of the Town Been out in Lincoln yet? The SU Bar at 7:30pm for a few drinks then your Ents team will take you into town to the places worth visiting, with a few freebies of the alcoholic variety along the way.
Wednesday 23rd September –
Freshers’ Fayre This is the place to be 12 – 3 in the SU by the time you’ve finished you will have bags of freebees, plus you can meet the teaching unions and see what Lincoln can offer you.
Pin-up Party Welfare introduce their safe sex campaign so dress up a little risqué but please let’s not have any nude people please and be at the bar for 7:30.
Thursday 24th September – RAG 5 – Legged Pub Crawl All you need is to be at the bar for 7:30 in fancy dress with four mates and get ready to be tied together to visit different pubs and do challenges to win the crawl, and collect money. You’ll get points and be marked on how well you: drink, snog, bribe, sing, chant, money collecting among others.
Friday 25th September – Live music After an extreme night on the pubcrawl we’ll be nice and put on some awesome live music courtesy of you lovely Ents team. So we’ll see you at the SU Bar at 8pm for a drink and some good music.
Saturday 26th September –
Sports day The activities team and the Sports Officer are going to be putting together a sports day where we’ll have teams taking part in sports games including a staff VS students rounders match. Show you’re better than they are come to the SU at 12 noon.
Laser Quest An event you can’t miss, come along get into teams get your laser guns and capture the flag. Your arena... the WHOLE CAMPUS. Come to the SU at 5pm. After that the activities will be putting on a follow up event in the S.U Bar.
Sunday 27th September – The Mad Hatters Tea Party A night of story book filled excitement. Join the RAG team at 7:30pm at the SU so they can take you down the rabbit hole. Oh and one more thing if you’re going to a storybook characters tea party you should dress the part and go as your favourite character
