► Student Council

What is Student Council?

Everything the Union does is determined by students for students through a democratic process. Any changes the SU Exec wish to make to the running of the Union or the constitution must be passed through council, which means your voice is very important!
Student Council gives you the chance to come and get your voice heard. It is a chance for you to hold your executive to account and ask them any questions you like, whether it be a suggestion, complaint, or a simple question, your SU Exec will be there to answer to you as best they can.

Each Exec member gives a weekly report informing council of the details of the work they have been doing for the week. The council then have the opporunity to ask any questions on the reports and make any relevant comments. The floor is then opened for any other buisness, this is when you can raise any issues you feel you need to, whether it be Union based or Academic, the Exec will try their best to help and get the issue resolved as quickly as possible.

Why come to Student Council?

As mentioned above, Student Council gives you a chance to get your voice heard. The SU Exec have the knowledge to help with almost any issue you bring to us and if we can't help, we will most likely know the people who can.

Student Council is also the place where you will hear the latest Union and Accademic developments that could directly affect you! Council gives you the opportunity to comment on these developments and maybe even help to change them!
